We are pleased to announce that Milestone 1 – End user requirements collected has been successfully achieved thanks to the contribution of our partner HYDROLITE. The milestone focused on gathering and consolidating end-user requirements for the application of newly developed bio-based materials in anion exchange membrane technologies and the automotive sector. This achievement is focused on the reporting of specifications and test designs for electrolyzers/fuel cells (Hydrolite) and electrical vehicles (Centro Ricerche Fiat), respectively. The reports define required characteristics of PBI-based ionomer and membrane for fuel cell/electrolyzer technologies, along with testing protocols and success criteria for device validation, as well as thermoplastic PA-polymer specifications for automotive use, mechanical, thermal and chemical-physical specifications.
The outcomes of Milestone 1 provide a critical foundation for advancing TECNALIA and Maastricht University development programs for synthesis and validation of high-performance biobased polymers, copolymers and blends.
