  • Launching “Myth Busters”: a new campaign to challenge misconceptions on bio-based materials

Following previous communication activities, BIOPYRANIA is pleased to introduce “Myth Busters”, a new awareness campaign dedicated to addressing some of the most common misconceptions surrounding bio-based materials, circularity, and sustainable chemistry.

Despite growing attention toward sustainable solutions, several assumptions continue to shape public and professional perception, often oversimplifying complex topics. Concepts such as “bio-based equals less durable”, “recyclable means disposable”, or “chemistry is inherently polluting” can create misunderstandings that limit the adoption of innovative materials.

Through the Myth Busters campaign, BIOPYRANIA aims to provide clear, accessible, and science-based explanations, helping stakeholders better understand how materials are designed, evaluated, and applied in real-world contexts.

Over the coming months, the campaign will:

  • Present a series of “Myth vs Fact” insights
  • Break down complex scientific concepts into clear and engaging content
  • Share examples and perspectives derived from BIOPYRANIA’s research activities
  • Highlight the importance of considering the entire lifecycle of materials, from design to end-of-life

By bridging the gap between technical knowledge and public understanding, Myth Busters aims to support more informed decision-making and foster greater trust in sustainable material solutions.

The first myth will be released next Tuesday. Follow us on LinkedIn, X and BlueSky.
